Pelvic Floor Therapy
You don’t have to suffer in silence, Advantage Physical Therapy can help!
Advantage Physical Therapy offers a wide range of pelvic floor treatments for women. Our specialized therapist, Serae Mele, is a graduate from the University of St. Augustine Doctorate of Physical Therapy Program. She has taken a strong interest in Pelvic Rehab where she is certified in the treatment of the pelvic floor. Through education and retraining, Serae is able to help patients regain control, decrease pain, and improve quality of life.
Pelvic Floor Therapy is a non-surgical approach to treatment of dysfunctions in the pelvis that contribute to bowel, bladder, sexual health, and pain.
What is biofeedback for pelvic floor retraining?
Biofeedback is a treatment to help patients learn to use the pelvic floor muscles properly. Patients may need to strengthen certain muscles and/or relax other muscles in order to improve bowel or bladder function and decrease pelvic floor pain. It is a painless process that uses special sensors to give the therapist and patient information about muscle activity. This information is used to help the patient gain control over pelvic floor muscle function. With the help of the therapist, the patient can learn to stop using the incorrect muscles and start using the correct ones
