michael

Michael Testa – MSPT, CSCS

Physical Therapist | Owner

Michael was raised in Rockaway, New Jersey. He earned a BA in Exercise Science from Fort Lewis College in Durango. Michael went on to receive a Master of Science in Physical Therapy degree from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, FL. He has over 20 years of physical therapy experience, specializing in manual therapy and functional movement. Michael is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), certified in Functional Dry Needling (FDN), and certified in the Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) and Functional Movement Screen (FMS). Michael is also Titleist Performance Institute Certified (TPI) and is excited to help golfers return from injuries and improve their mobility and strength to improve their playing.

He enjoys spending time with his family, skiing, golfing, mountain biking as well as singing and playing his guitar.

Amy was born and raised in Stafford Springs, Connecticut. She attended Furman University in Greenville, SC where she earned a BS in Psychology. She received her Master of Science degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, FL. Amy has advanced training in the areas of manual therapy techniques, functional movement and pediatrics. She has over 20 years of experience and specializes in treating the neck and headaches. Amy is certified in the Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA). She enjoys a wide variety of outdoor activities as well as volleyball, traveling, and photography.

Haley Hutton – DPT

Haley Hutton is from Flagstaff, AZ and no stranger to the mountains. She received her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science with a minor in Psychology at Northern Arizona University (go Jacks!), and continued at NAU completing her Doctor of Physical Therapy in 2018. Dr. Hutton’s clinical interests include educating patients and treating vertigo, foot and ankle injuries, dry needling, and sport injuries/return to sport progressions. She has continued her interest in concussion rehabilitation and is an ImPACT certified Physical Therapist. Haley is passionate about individualizing treatment and getting her patients back to exploring the incredible state of Colorado. When she’s not in the clinic, you can find Haley out on the trails with her husband and two dogs. She enjoys hiking, backpacking, camping, snowboarding, snowshoeing, paddle boarding, and exploring new places.

David McIlwain – DPT

David grew up in North Carolina. He attended Appalachian State University where he received his BS in Exercise Science. He later attended Winston-Salem State University where he earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy. He has had advanced training in Dry Needling, Running and Gait analysis, blood flow restriction, and Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization. During his free time he enjoys wood working, backpacking, whitewater kayaking, mountain biking, skiing and doing cannon balls into cold mountain lakes.

Preston Wolff – DPT

Preston was born and raised in Washington State and received his undergraduate degree from Whitworth University in Spokane. Preston attended Regis University in Denver to complete his Doctorate in Physical Therapy. He has advanced training in Dry Needling, vestibular dysfunctions, and clinical bike fitting. After having a taste of consistent sun, he decided to stay in Colorado, moving to Durango to be closer to the mountains. When not at the clinic, you will likely find Preston riding a bike, playing with his two dogs, skiing, or attempting to fly fish.

Jessica graduated from Cortiva Institute of Massage Therapy in Seattle, WA in 2009. She continued her education by earning her associates degree as a physical therapist assistant from PIMA Institute and most recently by getting her 200hr yoga teaching certification in Dana Point, CA.She believes her background, alongside personal experiences, help bring an intuitive, well rounded and therapeutic approach to her massage. During her time off she enjoys hiking, biking, paddle boarding, reading, traveling and spending time with friends and family.

Morgin Wolke

Office Manager

Morgin was born and raised in Durango, Colorado. She attended Fort Lewis College and obtained her Associates Degree from Southwest Colorado Community College. Morgin gained her valuable experience in the exciting world of Physical Therapy in Arroyo Grande, California, where she was the front office assistant. She moved back to Durango with her husband in April 2018 to be closer to family, friends and the mountains. In her free time, Morgin enjoys hiking, camping, skiing, traveling, wake boarding and just enjoying the sunshine with her husband Pete and dog, Leo.

Reception

Mara was born in Louisiana and raised in Arizona and Durango. Mara enjoys baking, reading and walking along Durango’s river trail in her free time.

Alix is a Colorado raised, Fort Lewis alum, who volunteers annually at Animas River Days, is a continually learning seamstress, and also enjoys getting on the river and in the outdoors with her husband and two kids.

Sully Testa

Official Greeter

Sully is a Parker’s Animal Rescue pup. He joined the Advantage PT team in October of 2020. Sully quickly rose to the role of an Official Greeter at APT and became a patient and staff favorite with his mellow ways and friendly disposition. He takes his job very seriously making sure that each patient feels welcome and relaxed. Sully loves his family, belly rubs and playing with his friends.
