Michael Testa – MSPT, CSCS

Physical Therapist | Owner

Michael was raised in Rockaway, New Jersey. He earned a BA in Exercise Science from Fort Lewis College in Durango. Michael went on to receive a Master of Science in Physical Therapy degree from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, FL. He has over 20 years of physical therapy experience, specializing in manual therapy and functional movement. Michael is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), certified in Functional Dry Needling (FDN), and certified in the Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) and Functional Movement Screen (FMS). Michael is also Titleist Performance Institute Certified (TPI) and is excited to help golfers return from injuries and improve their mobility and strength to improve their playing.

He enjoys spending time with his family, skiing, golfing, mountain biking as well as singing and playing his guitar.

Amy was born and raised in Stafford Springs, Connecticut. She attended Furman University in Greenville, SC where she earned a BS in Psychology. She received her Master of Science degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, FL. Amy has advanced training in the areas of manual therapy techniques, functional movement and pediatrics. She has over 20 years of experience and specializes in treating the neck and headaches. Amy is certified in the Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA). She enjoys a wide variety of outdoor activities as well as volleyball, traveling, and photography.

Craig Short

Craig Short is a Durango, CO local and Fort Lewis College Alumni where he received his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology. Wanting a change of scenery and to explore city life he spent 10 years in Phoenix, AZ where he worked as a fitness instructor and personal trainer however he found himself frustrated by his inability to help those people with nagging injuries. That’s when decided to advance his education, going back to school for physical therapy and obtaining a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at A.T. Still University in 2021. While the desert was nice, he always knew that he wanted to return to the place that he was raised. Having spent extensive time in the gym and participating in outdoor activity he has a passion for educating people on ways to maximize their training during rehabilitation. When not treating patients, you can find him working on his hobby farm, snowboarding, or spending time with his wife and daughter.

Bob Culver, PT, MT, DPT

Physical Therapist

Bob received his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from CU Boulder and Certified Integrated Bodyworker degree from the New Mexico Academy of Healing Arts, prior to getting his Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree at UNM. He has over 30 years of experience in body work and 15 years of experience as a PT in both the inpatient, acute setting as well as outpatient setting. His work focuses on myofascial release. He is specifically trained in TMJ and cervicogenic headaches along with all musculoskeletal conditions. A Colorado native, Bob has been in Durango since 1995. He enjoys getting out on his bike, climbing on a rock or skiing in our fabulous San Juan Mountains.

Adam Hamilton PT, DPT, CSCS

Adam Hamilton PT, DPT, CSCS, is a physical therapist with 7 years of experience specializing in sports rehabilitation, orthopedics, vestibular and balance disorder therapy, post-concussive care, whiplash injuries, and manual therapy. He takes a hands-on, manual therapy approach to his treatments, complemented by targeted exercise rehabilitation and sports performance training as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. Adam’s athletic background includes a childhood of competing at a high level in football, baseball, and soccer, followed by a decade of competitive powerlifting which helps to understand and meet the needs of an athletic population. Since moving to Colorado, he has shifted his focus toward the endurance and mountain athlete community, applying both his clinical expertise and firsthand athletic experience to help patients achieve their goals. Outside the clinic, Adam enjoys hiking, trail running, camping, fishing, and chasing adventures with his wife and young daughter. Make sure to say hi when you see him on the trail!

Sarah Holtsclaw – PT, DPT

Sarah graduated from Regis University in Denver, Colorado. She has a special interest in both women’s and men’s pelvic health. Sarah treats urinary incontinence, urinary frequency, pre- and post-natal conditions, and many other pelvic floor related diagnoses. She has a passion for assisting all genders reach their goals and regain control of their pelvic health. She places emphasis on patient education, working to improve knowledge regarding pelvic health to her patients and our community. Through education and retraining, Sarah is able to help patients regain control, decrease pain, and improve quality of life.

Jessica graduated from Cortiva Institute of Massage Therapy in Seattle, WA in 2009. She continued her education by earning her associates degree as a physical therapist assistant from PIMA Institute and most recently by getting her 200hr yoga teaching certification in Dana Point, CA.She believes her background, alongside personal experiences, help bring an intuitive, well rounded and therapeutic approach to her massage. During her time off she enjoys hiking, biking, paddle boarding, reading, traveling and spending time with friends and family.

Peg McMahan is a licensed massage therapist, certified holistic health practitioner, Reiki master, hypnotherapist, and life coach with more than 20 years experience in helping people heal. Peg’s formal training crystallized into a technique that works incredibly well to relieve stress and tension, achieve increased movement, and relieve pain.

Sammie is a Parker’s Animal Rescue pup. She joined the Advantage PT team in November of 2022. Sammie is a bit shy and cautious. She loves being a lap dog (when she’s home with her family), chewing on bones, and carrying her family’s shirts and shoes around the house.
